Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 September 2026 · Operator: Steven Huang ("Ledger", "we", "us")

1. Who we are

Ledger is a personal planner and study companion available at ledgerstudy.com. It helps you track work, plan your day, study from textbooks, chat with an AI tutor, and connect your calendars. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Questions or requests about your data: zijie047@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

  • Account details — your email address and sign-in identifiers when you create an account (email or Google sign-in).
  • Planner content — tasks, projects, day plans, time blocks, exams, and curriculum/subject settings you enter.
  • Study content — textbooks and notes you upload (PDFs, pasted text, page photos) and the study materials you generate (summaries, flashcards, quizzes, study plans).
  • Tutor conversations — the messages you send to and receive from the tutor bot.
  • Calendar connections — the credentials (OAuth tokens or Apple app-specific passwords) needed to sync with Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, and Apple Calendar, plus the events read from or written to those calendars as part of syncing.
  • Basic technical data — such as server logs needed to operate and secure the service.

3. How we use your data

We use your data only to operate and improve Ledger:

  • To provide your account and keep your planner, study library, and settings synced across devices.
  • To generate AI study materials and tutor responses based on content you provide.
  • To sync events between Ledger and the calendars you connect, in both directions, when you ask.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. AI processing

When you generate summaries, flashcards, quizzes, study plans, or tutor replies, the relevant content (for example, textbook text or your question) is sent to our AI provider to produce the result. We do not allow the AI provider to use that content to train its models. You remain in control: you choose what to upload and what to generate.

5. Calendar access

When you connect Google, Outlook, or Apple Calendar, Ledger reads and writes calendar events only as needed to perform the syncs you trigger or enable. Calendar credentials are stored encrypted and are never readable in your browser. You can disconnect a calendar at any time from Settings; disconnecting removes our access and we delete the stored credentials for that connection.

6. Storage and security

Your data is stored in a managed cloud database with row-level isolation, so your planner and study content are visible only to you. Sign-in is handled by a managed authentication service. Calendar credentials are encrypted with AES-GCM before storage. No service is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to a personal productivity tool.

7. Sharing

We share data only with the service providers needed to run Ledger: cloud hosting and database, authentication, AI processing, and the calendar providers you connect (Google, Microsoft, Apple). These providers process data on our behalf. We may disclose data if legally required.

8. Data retention and deletion

Your planner and study data are kept while your account is active. You can delete individual textbooks, materials, tasks, and calendar connections from within the app at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, email zijie047@gmail.com and we will delete your data within 30 days.

9. Children's privacy

Ledger is suitable for students but is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

10. International users

Ledger is available worldwide and data may be processed in countries other than your own, including Australia and the locations of our hosting and AI providers. We apply the protections in this policy regardless of where your data is processed.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, or Australian Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any right, email zijie047@gmail.com.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated" date above shows the current version; material changes will be announced in the app.
